I know I'm in the minority here, but this book didn't work for me, although I loved other books by Pratchett. The sticking point is I hate it when an author withholds information from the readers. I've already read 49 pages, and I still don't know who the protagonists are and what troubles they are facing. Probably, it is about the witches, as the summary insists, but I'm not sure yet. And the repeated pattern of "... and then it happened ..." while the text doesn't describe what exactly happened makes for an irritating narration. I'm disgusted with the vagueness of the story and not tempted in the least to continue reading it.
