Lovely, Dark & Deep

Another solid read. This is my first book by Megan Stockton and I went in blind. The story starts off pretty wild, but it’s a fairly slow burn until about the 50% mark. The ominous vibe definitely creeps up on you and the second half goes pretty hard.
The monsters in the book were the thing of nightmares, but much of the folklore is never really explained. There were a few loose ends that I would’ve loved to have to come to light. The story is never totally clear on the nature of the creatures, and at times they just felt like a blend of several different things.
Overall, Stockton is absolutely an author to watch and I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Definitely recommend.
