Can you imagine if Fifty Shades of Grey claims to be a memoir of S&M experience? That's what this book is.

You came in thinking you're reading a memoir, ending up realizing the writer is trying to write a Colleen Hoover novel.

Specific complains:

It threw me off since the Chinese roommate showed up. There's absolutely no Chinese overseas student who needs a "translation box"(WTF is that?) to communicate with her white roommate trying to say "You woke me up last night." Can it be a prank? No. We don't do pranks. Pranking like that is not our thing. Are we in a Y2K chick flick or something? A memoir?

All the "...I exclaimed.""I tapped my chin with a pencil pondering...""I flashed a grin and said...""...I continued""...I sighed."(then actually sigh in the audio book. The author is the narrator)...

I wanted to like this book. I liked it at the beginning. And it betrayed me.
THIS is a prank. And it's not funny. Its "superficial charm" is not charming at all. It's lame and boring.
