really liked it

Holly Jackson does it again! I loveddd the ending of this book. It was so fast-paced and I didn't see it coming. Also the concept of Rachel Price disappearing and then reappearing had me hooked!
The only 2 things I disliked that stopped it from being 5 stars for me:
1. The first half moved a bit slow and then the end moved so fast. I wish the pacing was a little more consistent and we got more concrete clues in the beginning.
2. I didn't really bond with Bel in the way I've bonded with Holly Jackson's other main characters like Pip. That could just be a personal thing as everyone is different and will relate to different characters. But Bel felt a little one-dimensional to me.

Other than that a great mystery! Definitely made me want to read more mysteries this year.

Laura i agree- loved loved loved Pip and was a little disappointed in the beginning from Bel
but on the other hand i was still so invested in her relationship to her dad and then the transformation and the bonding with her mom

Genevieve Barry I loved this book too! I feel the same way about Pip vs Bel, and I also really liked Ravi immediately in agggtm, but it took me a LONG time to get him to grow on me.

Dezaray Clark I agree! I loved Pip, but it took me a while to start liking Bel.

Jenna Strickland I’m currently trying to read this book and I cannot seem to get in to it! I’m about 50 pages in and still nothing! A good girls guide to murder was deff one I couldn’t put down and I’m so exciting they’re going to make a series out of it

Clara Reed I thought it was just me. I just started this one and I’m not feeling Bel like I did Pip at all!

Sofiya Molina The books get better towards the end trust me

Nicole I agree with you about Bel. While I did like her relationship with her dad, Carter, and Rachel, I think Pip is a lot more of a fleshed out character than Bel is. I feel like I know Pip as a character more than Bel. Bel doesn’t really have any major personality traits other than not always being super nice. As you said Bel is one-dimensional while on the other hand, I feel like I know what makes Pip, Pip.

Paridhi Mittal This is a stand-alone, so there will probably be lesser character development, because it would be a really long book then, but I get your point, and Pip was amazing.

Gia Di Pietro Ya I agree about it be slow in the beginning then fast paced at the end

Kitti Bódi I’m currently reading this book and i’m 53 pages in but i already like it

Aysel Cheema (free Palestine) At some point early on in the book a ‘psycho who was obsessed with the case was mentioned and I doubt it means anything but it did make me think of Pip!

Caroline Surber Once you get past page 50 it gets really good!! I’m 46% done and can’t wait to finish!

Hailey Rezac That’s what I’m saying it was fast and I thought Rachel was lying but not how she was lying to keep her family (2 kids) safe.

Matteo I totally agree with your review. Couldn’t have said it better myself! @Ali
