Arthur (The Arthurian Tales, #3)

‘ in our darkest time, when we need him most, shall Arthur come again.
Giles Kristian’s novel is a beautifully written elegy to the power of myth and belief even during periods of decline. The action is compelling and visceral but, for me, the pleasure of the work lies in its lyricism. The Arthur myth retains a bittersweet potency, the promise of glory resurrected when we need it most. In our current, uncertain times, it is a myth that has increased resonance. ‘Arthur is, then, a novel that celebrates honour, integrity and, ultimately, selflessness. A timely book indeed.
