Ah Poe, just when we think you're going left, you suddenly turn right. A beautifully rendered story about a gondolier and a hero. The way Poe writes continues to delight me and I never get tired of it. In this little story a baby falls into a canal and is rescued by a hero. Then the gondolier goes to the home of the hero and we get an elaborate description of his beautiful home. Is there a point? Well, it might just feed into a brilliant ending we didn't see coming. No matter how much I like Poe's stories, I still like his writing better, and have yet to get bored of it. Wonderful story.
