it was ok

very difficult to get through. disliked the dialogue which felt pretentious and annoying, and how much time was spent referencing her husband considering you never really learn a thing about him. felt very difficult to understand her love for him because he was so empty. the writing style is interesting and unique. cerebral, clipped, poetic, and very annoying. it was exhausting to spend so much time trying to decode what I was reading, it was like trying to read this story when it was written at the bottom of a pool. the style obfuscated the plot to an extent that I feel I dont even understand what happened and I was so frustrated that i dont care. Theres BDSM stuff and religion and the struggle for autonomy as a woman and artist, but i kept asking myself what the hell the point of anything was and it felt like none of these themes went anywhere.
