For me, Clive Barker is and always will be the master of horror literature. Every book of his, big or small, proves it! This one strikes at the heart of every woman, as femicide has increased in recent years, and at every person in general, through his message that "violence begets violence."
What I really love about Barker's writing is how direct he is with the reader. His prose is beautifully structured, and just when you are engrossed in it, he breaks the fourth wall and speaks to you. Truly mesmerizing!
