What a fantastically odd and unique little book this is. We have a mysterious protagonist dropped into a Stepfordwives-esque suburban horror of a town - full of passive aggression and “politeness hiding something more sinister. From commentary on the hypocrisy of “good Christians, self-serving altruism, prejudice, gender essentialism, and our extreme need to categorize and seperate people, Pew is a fascinating journey into one eerie town’s dark secrets.
I would highly recommend this to my fellow WeirdLit lovers!
Trigger/Content Warnings: animal death and cruelty, gender essentialism, misogyny
