I think this book was too hyped up so my expectations were for something incredible, a new favorite this year. Alas, it fell a bit short. After the middle, the constant switching between characters became tedious - I just wanted to know what happens to Cyrus next! Also after reading about his mother and her bed-wetting "accidents", why don't we read more about how that affected her relationship with her brother? That bit was just ploped in there with no further explanation...
The language is definitely beautiful, and I understand the idea behind the book, but it just wasn't as profound for me.
And then there was the ending.
So, Lin and Cyrus have the conversation, we learn he's still angry but also proud of his mother and then shit gets weird. He's meeting up with Z, and then they...hallucinate together? Die? What is it? Am I too dumb to understand what happened ? Idk. I hope someone else on here has written a review about it because I need to know.
