This book was one that left me more baffled than enlightened or intrigued. Perhaps because it reminded me painfully of my college roommate overly fixated on race and the impact of it in the world. The main character is consumed with the ‘whys of other peoples choices but floats along avoiding looking at her own choices. She played role after role and never really presented her true self to anyone in her life. The hypocrisy of that unlikable character and living in her head made this a fairly meh book for me.
There are plenty of people that would enjoy this but not me.
