dnf'ing at 60%.
I was really feeling this story until now... it's been three weeks since I last picked it up. The fmc reminded me of Ari from "You, Again" which I loved, with how quirky and odd she was. I did like the relationship she built with Miles but then it felt like the author wanted to write a 400 page book (for no reason) and then they're going camping? And not just like "oh yes we went camping" but there are pagessss dedicated to it. Which is fine... if it didn't feel so lackluster and directionless. Maybe it was fitting given the main character?
I thought the grief was handled well and consistently but I still didn't really understand Miles' desire to help her. Yes, he was there all the time and yes he wanted to spend more time with his niece but... But...
Idk. I hope to finish this before the pub date but the fact that Im only 60% in and it's dragged on for so long might tell me I probably won't.
