I'm disappointed that, so far, the Sidewinder series isn't half as interesting as the one it branched off from, Cut & Run. I love the characters but the plots laid out for them aren't enough to really bring their personalities to light.

On the upside, I adored seeing a few returning characters. (view spoiler)[ Julian's always welcome to jump into the scene, and it was a pleasant change to see the usually unflappable Julian Cross (cue spy music in the back) acting all frazzled, although what would have been even better, would be if he got angry and starting ripping up the city to find Cameron.

And WHERE was Cameron? The sweetheart of Warrior's Cross got only two lines in this one. Two lines! That is a crime! (hide spoiler)]

JD was the highlight of the book for me. It's hard not to like him, despite the fact that he was a suspect, when he's so frightened of everything and yet so eager to help. He had quite a big personality beneath the amnesia, and watching that personality unfold would have been nice if he had been focused on more.
