The only likable character for me was Hugo (and what a weird name). He’s like the lonely, sexy, bookish genius. I hate that it feels like he’s being played (I’m on page 60). I’m agreeing with you all that feel kind of “meh� about this one. Although I never read a classic, this one kind of feels a little like a modern Romeo and Juliet but falls flat for me.
