It's an interesting enough look into a mother's ability, or inability, to process trauma, grief, sadness, and heartbreak while also being born into the shadow of a pop culture icon. But beyond the salacious bits of her and Ben's deaths, I feel like an exorbitant chunk of information is missing. Many times, Lisa Marie is described as having been "used" by the music industry, or "due to her history in music, she feared and loathed it." Or something to that affect. But it's never expressly stated what happened. Or why. It feels like the majority of her adult life was skimmed over, and that there are definitive moments lost.

Mia I would’ve have been fascinated to read about Lisa Marie’s relationship with the music industry, it sounds like she loved music but at the same time, it also reminded her a lot of her father :((

Ann J I think her daughter respected her mother’s wishes and much of what we read was taken from tapes Lisa-Marie dictated. Perhaps there was more and she made the decision not to tell all. Or maybe she used all that Lisa-Marie had provided. Her life was cut short. She does mention a gap in the beginning of the “ten years chapter, for reasons she explains. I think she worked with what she had and added her own commentary and memories.

Mary burnash I agree so much was missing and not even touched on.
