** spoiler alert ** A really cute book! Great characters, very good chemistry and actual funny parts that made me giggle(which is rare). It was easy and quick to read with a very natural writing style and flow. I really enjoyed the first half but it kind of lost me towards the end, just because it got more and more unrealistic/ uncharacteristic for Alice and the story...like, that would NEVER happen but because it is set in the real world, i expect it to be realistic. Very much enjoyed the setting in China and international school, which I am not much familiar with.
Just now realised how clever the title it, with her chinese name being Sun.
ALSO the book carried a lecture-type vibe throughout, about social conflict/problems(elite vs. lower class, school scholarships, supporting students from lower income families,...) which i find fine but also personally unnecessary...
Overall a solid and enjoyable read!
