No Secret Lie:
Prolific author Freida McFadden needs to slow down!

Yes:
This readable, pacey satirical short story did produce a few laughs.

No joke:
I wanted and expected more.

Overall, "The Widow's Husband's Secret Lie" was absurd, eye-rolling, and lacked luster and believability.

Yes:
There are elements of believability in many satires, but not this one!

I listened to the audiobook read by Marin Ireland, who did an outstanding job with the narration.

2.39 stars for this 2.39-hour audiobook.

Onto better!

NZLisaM She churns out so many! Every time I walk past the bookstore there’s a new one on display. Always love reading your thoughts, Jayne. 💙

Melody McNamara Great review, Jayne! I’m a Freida fan (I know you are, too), but this one doesn’t interest me.

Melissa (Semi-hiatus for Work) She's getting to be like James Patterson with a book out every 2 weeks

JanB Marin is always a delight but ouch on this story

I suspect they are capitalizing on her success by dredging up her early drafts and unpublished works
