The thing I liked about Pregame was the sincerity of the story.
The writer was careful to put in just enough of Brookelyn’s feelings at the beginning to make sure the reader wanted to find out more. Brookelyn’s past has come back to haunt her, but she has such strong character traits, that you just knew (or really really hoped) she wouldn’t give up on herself.
If put in the same situation, I would have chosen Wes over Gabe, any day. When Gabe kept calling her beautiful, at first I thought it was annoying, but as the story went on it made sense contextually wise, to break down the characters and who she can and cannot trust.
All the characters were relatable, even the antagonists. There’s something about a bad-boy that attracts you, but not all bad-boy’s are worth it. Some are.
Overall, the story was good and I’m glad I had a chance to read it!
