it was amazing

"The goal is to haunt - to have them think about your words before bed, see them manifest in their dreams." And haunt me it did. And also, F PISSRAEL, F HERZL, F SATANYAHU, F BIDEN

'The Message' is a collection of 4 essays on the moral obligations of journalism, war, racial identity & colonialism. It is deeply personal & universal at the same time. It also feels like a biography a bit but nonetheless objective.

I have to admit the first few pages got me struggling to figure out what I am actually reading. But when I get the hang of it, it was so worth it (and don't let fake Zino acc fooled you, those pos never learn).

I. Journalism Is Not A Luxury
In this chapter, Coates ponders on his obligation as not just a journalist but a writer in general. He recalls works from Shakespeare, Frederick Douglass (whom I have every intention to read). It is the shortest one as it is an appetiser on what's to come - a thesis statement of his intentions in exploring the later chapters.

II. On Pharaohs
In this chapter I learned that there's a thing as 'Niggerology'. This is where Coates, as an African-American tries to understand his identity & heritage and the complexity as to how he & his ancestors got here. He also talks about colorism in Africa and others and how even within the so-called "same skin colour" there is still a clear distinction over who's who. He ponders as his own social construction of race is being preached back to him. He ponders over how 'light-skinned' is still very much desirable in Senegal and the 'blackness' is considered 'unworthy'.

III. Bearing the Flaming Cross - "School was not just a place of instruction - it was a first and last chance." While I don't necessarily agree with this statement but it seems that he's trying to specifically criticise American public school system in particular on the way it is never about learning but more about indoctrination.

"... to recognise that students are humans to be challenged, not animals to be broken and tamed." Considering the amount of Zino POS comments under here are mostly 'Muricans who are too stupid to break free from their own country's propaganda since school, he's probably right.

"And I thought how it all works not simply to misinform but to miseducate; not just to assure the right answers are memorised but that the wrong questions are never asked."

After a year of reading Zino stuff on social media, he hit the nail on this chapter so much on white supremacist.

"The war might be raging in the streets, but it could never be defeated there, because what they were ultimately fighting was the word." (which is topical considering the blocking of free speech with US banning TikTok and the UNO reverse move by Americans going to XHS).

IV. The Gigantic Dream
And finally we reached the chapter on Palestine which IF YOU ZINO POS ever bother reading the book it only touches ONE CHAPTER but it is more than enough to DISCREDIT THEIR LIES.

This chapter recalls his visit to Shitrael and pretty much consistent with other books I've read that includes authors visiting Gaza (also, read Rebecca Gould's 'Erasing Palestine'). He described the apartheid, the blatant racism, the tension, and of course the comparison to South African apartheid and the racism that him & the people of his skin have experienced for generations. He described the citizenship issue of Palestinians, the zones & the living conditions of Palestinians in Shitrael.

"I want to tell you that your oppression will not save you, that being a victim will not enlighten you, that it can just easily deceive you." Zino POS have been doing it for 3000 years.

I've also learned that how Zino love to throw the 'terrorist' slur at us, Muslims. Well, guess what? They built a shrine for the person who terrorised Muslims? That's like if we built shrine for Bin Laden? How fucked up is that????

And he has proven just like all of the other books how Shitrael was built on racial segregation, the racist narrative of Palestine, like Pissrael was the "saviour". Have they learnt nothing from AMERICANS??? Oh I forgot... America is their sugar daddy.

And they're also involved with S. African apartheid so yeah, more reason to F PISSRAEL all day everyday.
