Who would ever know I would be bashing Tom Selleck's "You Never Know" memoir???
😭😭😭😭😭

I adore and admire Tom Selleck, so perhaps my expectations were too high.

IMHO, Tom Selleck is a terrific actor but not a great author.

Selleck's memoir was very, very, very slow-paced and suffered from waaay too much repetitious text.

Much too much time was allocated to his early acting years.

I was interested in hearing about his behind-the-scenes experiences with "Friends" and "Blue Blood" and that never happened.

I listened to the audiobook read by the 79-year-old actor.

I always love it when memoirs are read by authors. However, the actor's narration also missed the mark for me.

NZLisaM I think I would prefer reading about his early acting years so I may enjoy this more. Thanks for your honest, well-rounded review, Jayne. 🤍

Debbie Very balanced review, Jayne. Memoirs can be so iffy. Thanks for your honest thoughts. 💛

Rosh (Off GR duty for a fortnight!) Oh no! I would have expected a fabulous narration in this particular instance. How sad that it didn't work for you, Jayne! Thanks for this honest review.
"Tom Selleck is a terrific actor but not a great author." - I remember saying the same after reading Tom Hanks' short story collection.
