This book opens up the imagination and lets it soar. I love the giant mushrooms in this book.

The artwork is by Gabriella Barouch. Stunning! Oh my lord, it’s so beautiful. It reminds me of renaissance or Baroque style painting. The colors are so perfect. The painting is so perfect. It’s simply amazing. There are a few pieces I would love to hang on my wall.

I like this book and I have questions as well. The book is talking about the endless potential we all have. Is this child human? Why does it have feathers and a beak on its head??? Does that represent its uniqueness?

While I love the artwork, some of the ideas are very abstract and that’s fine. It does get across the point. It also feels lonely. There is only one character in this book. It’s an idea in a vacuum. I’m not sure it’s really getting its point across. I recently read the Artivist and this is a book about the same idea and it’s set in community. That book hums in a way this one doesn’t.

I think some kids will enjoy this. The artwork should be enjoyed.
