I kind of hated this book. Anna's family, and Christopher, were unbearably appalling. The way those people treated her was beyond belief. There wasn't even any reason for it. She did nothing wrong and they were just horrible to her. Even when she went back into the haunted house to get their belongings because they were too scared to, they still were nasty to her! Family or not, I can't imagine ever putting up with behavior like that. She should have kicked them to the curb a long time ago. The kids were the only ones that weren't terrible. On top of that, Diavola was rather boring and wasn't creepy or scary at all. I'm giving this book two stars because the writing itself wasn't bad, and the ending was decent. I'd still like to give this author another chance because I think she has potential as long as the next book doesn't have such atrocious characters. Really disappointed in this one.
