My review for the original English version of The Book Thief can be found here.
Since I read both the English and the German version of The Book Thief, I felt compelled to write a review for the German edition as well, especially because I feel like Alexandra Ernst really deserves to be recognized for doing an amazing job with the translation of this wonderfully written book. It couldn鈥檛 have been an easy job, since Markus Zusak was stunning, but her writing was wonderful, and I was very impressed by how skillfully she captured the magic in his words, and poured it into her text as well.
I can honestly say that I loved both the original English version and the German translation of The Book Thief equally, which is in itself the biggest compliment I could possibly give.
