One day, Cassie comes across a small book titled, The Book of Doors, which allows its wielder to turn any door into a portal that leads anywhere.

Cassie quickly finds out that there exists many magical books but that the book she possesses is highly sought after - in fact, there are people who would kill to get their hands on this rare book.

What I liked most about this story aside from the concept of magical books (and time travel!) is it’s highlights on platonic relationships. I loved the friendships portrayed in this book - Cassie’s protectiveness over her best friend and roommate Izzy, her sweet friendship with Mr Webber, and her plan to form alliances to fight against an evil book collector.

The audiobook narration was great - the narrator’s range of accents was fantastic. I listened to the audiobook at x1.6 speed.

*** #4 of my 2025 Popsugar Reading Challenge - A book with two or more books on the cover or "book" in the title ***
