The Strawberry Patch Pancake House (Dream Harbor, #4)

The Strawberry Patch Pancake House by Laurie Gilmore is a cozy dream. The book starts with Archer taking over custody of his new-to-him daughter (Iris) after her mother (who never told him she was pregnant) passed away. He had to uproot his life from Paris to Dream Harbor to care for Olive. He has no clue how to care for Olive so he hires a nanny (Iris) to help. Iris likes job hopping and casual dating but this time while she is attracted to Archer, she won't try anything because Archer needs to get permanent custody and an entanglement with the nanny would not look good. However, these two flirt and banter so much that the inevitably fall for one another but how can they even make it work? Well, it is a cozy story with low stakes and a HEA so you'll find out how they make it work soon enough.
I started this series earlier in the year and these books are just as good from one to the other. I thought the town was so cute and the characters were so lovable. I really liked Olive and I don't tend to like kids in my romance novels but I thought she was sweet. I enjoyed the banter between Archer and Iris a lot, I thought it was witty and fun. I honestly really enjoyed this book and I would have rated it 5 stars if not for my least favorite trope being present. The (view spoiler) trope is something I tend to avoid at all cost so I did deduct a star from the book. Other than that, the book was phenomenal and I would recommend it to anyone who likes spicy cozy romances.
Tropes: boss/employee, small town, cozy, found family
Triggers: death of a parent, pregnancy
