it was amazing

Okay, this was my first Sue Lynn Tan book, and OH MY GOD, I鈥檓 obsessed. I devoured it in no time. The world-building? Stunning but super easy to follow. The plot hooked me right away. The romance? TENSION FOR DAYS. As a newbie to her universe, I was worried I鈥檇 feel lost, but nope! It was easy to get into and didn鈥檛 overwhelm me at all.

Liyen is the ultimate girlboss. She's stubborn, but it makes sense because she just wants the best for everyone. She's fierce, and so easy to root for. And Zhangwei is not exactly broody, but trust me, you鈥檒l get why he is the way he is as the story goes on.

But seriously, the banter! The tension! The pining! This book gave me all the feels, and I鈥檓 not kidding when I say I鈥檓 going feral over it. Seriously, this book was everything. The best read of 2025 and it鈥檚 only January!
