really liked it

The water of life = The joy of being able to love. Such is the message of The Neverending Story.
“Come on in! Come and drink! It’s wonderful! -Bastion Balthazar Bux
And after finally finding it, you must share it.
I did not expect this book. Only the first 40% or so is what the old movie was based on, but of Bastion’s adventures, his descent into darkness, and losing himself quite literally to find himself again, I knew nothing.
My favorite character was Grograman, The Many Colored Death—a giant lion who is the guardian of the Goab desert, and who changes into stone at night so that Perilin the Night Forest can have a chance to grow. He was just so cool, noble, and wise. I loved that he got to learn why he was so alone and what his purpose was.
Oh, and of course Atreyu was great. And Falkor. But Grograman was my favorite!
