Maybe more of a 3.5. Christian and his mother, who has recently been discharged from a mental institution, embark on a journey across Europe where the mother is trying to give away all she money she has made from the arms trade. I loved how witty the writing was and I thought the characters were absolutely brilliant. Christian as both the author and narrator comes completely alive off the page, and there were some great meta fictional jokes weaved into the story too. I found the first half of the book slightly dull and I felt that the first two chapters had a bit too much information thrown at you, but the second half of the book really was super funny and took on a life of its own. I would recommend if you like books about strange characters and funny, cleverly written stories.

Verabe The first part called „Faserland is much better in my opinion, not sure it has been translated to English though
