LOVED IT! A banger!
This book was such a comforting read. It is a haunted house story so if that sort of thing is scary too you then this book does it incredibly well and so probably not one for you.
I mainly enjoyed it because the Paces reminded me so much of my own biological family, like Anna I ended up going no contact with them. The story I think is much more interesting when looked at through the lense of having been the black sheep of a dysfunctional family. It feels familiar and more like a comment on the trauma that tends to follow you when you’re used to feeling isolated by your family.
My favourite line was ‘I’m not a lost lamb, I’m a black sheep. All that was needed was ‘bitch at the end and it would’ve probably been my favourite line ever.
