Wow just WOW
I hate violence; violent scenes on TV or in books. I got a little way into Knife Edge, and wondered whether the violence would make me anxious. However, like literary sex, if it’s well written and not gratuitous, I can cope. Knife Edge is superb, beautifully executed characters (no pun intended) and a strong story that bowls along. I’ve read Knife Edge and Black Tag back to back but the wrong way round, as in Black Tag first, but this didn’t diminish my enjoyment - but may have decreased my anxiety.
I’m sceptical of celebrity authors, but have read enough of Mayo’s books to know he’s the real thing, as is his ability on the radio. It’s just his dodgy taste in music. Mozart and The Faces?
