I’m debating between 3 and 4 stars.

A light fast read. Short chapters ending on little cliffhangers that keep you turning the pages. But it’s definitely light on substance/impact.

Garrett was the only remotely likable character. So it was hard to really care about the fate of the protagonists when they were all various degrees of awful/messed up.

The storyline got quite repetitive with endless competitions, dysfunctional relationships on a loop and mostly rinse and repeat over the years of the same things happening again and again.

But I must say reading about ice dance as a sport itself was a lot of fun and the chapters related to the Vancouver 2010 Olympics took me back to my personal memories of the most amazing few weeks of my life in Vancouver. It really was the best of times.

And bravo yet again to the REAL ice dance champions Tessa and Scott! The most decorated skaters of all time. The GOAT! The pride of the 2010 Olympics! This story took me down a rabbit hole of watching and rewatching many of their incredible performances.
