When I read this in high school it was the first classic novel I had ever read. I loved it and I know it helped start my love for classic literature and reading in general. While it is not my favorite classic novel now, it will always have a special place on my bookshelf. While Dickens claimed that David Copperfield was his favorite child, I must claim Pip as my favorite. Everyone has their personal Dickens favorite, but it doesn't get much better than Great Expectations.

Andrea AKA Catsos Person I thought PiP as a child was hilarious. When he grew up, he did not maintain his level of childhood humor into adulthood I found.

Deb Dickens is one of my favorite classic authors as well and Great Expectations is one of my favorite also. I also like watching all the various movie interpretations.
