Spells, Strings, and Forgotten Things (Sisters of Light and Shadow, #1)

The moment I started reading this book I was sucked in!! It hit me with that nostalgic feeling that wraps its arms around you like a warm, magical hug! The vibes were giving if Practical Magic and Charmed had a sparkly, honey, lemon and citrus-scented love child!
The magic system is INSANE! Spells don’t just require some Latin incantations, the wave of a wand or eye of the newt, no, they demand memories. Need a protection spell? Willingly say goodbye to the memory of your first kiss. It really makes one question what you’d be willing to sacrifice for the ones we love!!
The sibling dynamics is chaotic, hilarious and heartfelt—full of inside jokes, bickering, and a love that cannot be forgotten and I was living for it!
And did I mention the LGBTQIA+ rep? Because it is chef’s kiss perfection.Â
My only problems were probably my own fault! I kept getting lost with the world building and magic system! Certain things felt contradictory and some things didn’t make sense and I just felt like it was not as clear and fleshed out as I needed!
I also could’ve done without the romance honestly! As much as I enjoyed how it lead to the ending I actually liked them both more when they weren’t with each other!
I did thoroughly enjoy this though!
Can I just say I would 100% fail in this world because I can barely remember what I had for breakfast, let alone afford to forget anything else. Oh and telling me to conjure a memory to forget for a spell? Girly please, I will not have a single thought or memory!Â
