While I like a good movie as much as the next guy, I’m not exactly a cinephile. So, it’s not surprising that I really loved the sections on movies that I really love. The commentary on Taxi Driver was first rate. Did you know, for example, that unlike in the finished movie, in the original screenplay all the characters that Bickle kills were black? So, we know from watching the movie that’s he’s a racist, but being THAT racist was just too much for Hollywood to handle� Anyways, great book for movie nerds, good book for me.
