Give me a friends-to-lovers, second-chance romance, found family, and small-town setting, and I’ll EAT IT UP. Among the Willows delivered all of that and more, blending heartfelt romance with suspense and a “murder mystery vibe that kept me hooked from start to finish.
Jude is such a multilayered MMC—your classic cinnamon roll with a heart of gold. He cares deeply, but he also has insecurities that make him feel real and relatable. I love a man who’s in tune with his emotions, and Jude embodies that beautifully.
Romy, on the other hand, is fierce, loyal, and independent. She’s dealing with a lot in her life, and while she has her own insecurities, she handles them with grace. I truly admired her strength and resilience.
Together, Jude and Romy had me swooning. From the moment they were on the page, I was rooting for them. Their connection felt so raw and genuine, and the way they supported each other through their struggles was everything. And let’s not forget—the spice? SPICY AF.
The side characters were the definition of found family. I loved how they all showed up for each other, especially during the toughest moments. It made the small-town setting feel even more immersive and heartwarming.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book, and I want to thank the author for sending me this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Side note: The playlist was such a fun addition! Who doesn’t love when books include songs? It really helped set the tone for the story and made the reading experience even better.
