2.5 stars @crownpublishing | #partner Do you ever read a book where you end up feeling like it was completely over your head? That’s exactly where I landed with π—§π—›π—˜ π—˜π—«π—£π—˜π—₯𝗧 𝗒𝗙 π—¦π—¨π—•π—§π—Ÿπ—˜ π—₯π—˜π—©π—œπ—¦π—œπ—’π—‘π—¦ by debut author Kirsten Menger-Anderson. I was originally drawn to this book because of its time travel element, which I almost always enjoy when it’s done right. In this case, the time travel played a backseat to a lot of other things that were both confusing and not all that compelling for me.β

Beside time travel (which was never really explained), the story had two timelines, one in 2016 San Francisco and the other in 1933 Vienna. It involved mathematicians vying for attention in Vienna, a missing father in San Francisco, more than you ever want to know about Wikipedia, and probably a lot of other things I missed. While I liked several of the characters, the two timelines were jarring and the answers to my questions were never clear. I feel terrible being this negative about a book, especially a debut, but I just think this one was far too intellectual for me.πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈβ£
