A Natural History of Empty Lots: Field Notes from Urban Edgelands, Back Alleys, and Other Wild Places

A mixture of descriptions of exploring semi-wild places within an urban area (Austin) and a memoir of the author’s experiences building an interesting home in one of those spaces, with many musings about history, anthropology and politics. I liked the descriptions the best, the memoir parts were ok also, but I could have done with a lot less of the musings.
