With a title like Broken Fates, things could go either way. When I started this book, I was a little worried about how Vale and the guys left things. It wasn't good, and the world has gone to hell. But that's not what I needed to worry about.


I didn't have to wait too long for the confrontation between Vale and her guys; it was brutal but needed to happen. There were a lot of emotions, but they worked it out. What I should've been more concerned with was what was happening. It's a nightmare come to life. Literally. There was an unexpected creep factor, but I didn’t hate it. There was a dreamlike quality, and it was hard to tell what was real. I was on edge waiting for the next horrible thing to happen because it was going to happen, and it wasn’t just Zamarra and Arden that Vale and the others had to worry about.


Talk about tension; there was a fair amount, not just from the characters, but the plot held a fair amount as well, and when the plot twist was revealed, I lost my freaking mind. It was so good. Once we hit those final chapters, things happened pretty quick. The final battle was epic; however, in my opinion, not nearly enough people got what was coming to them.


Wow! Broken Fates was outstanding! It was the perfect conclusion to a fantastic series. I am not ready to leave this world, but I guess I have to go. Vale, her guys, and the rest will be missed.
