** spoiler alert **
I’m not entirely sure how to feel about this book. It was definitely entertaining, but I’m not sure I enjoyed HOW it was written. The best way I could try to describe it is like watching a novella and having to wait between scenes to find out what happened with the drama between characters. It isn’t as enjoyable reading something you’d watch on TV. It takes longer to get to the point when reading. I think I would have liked to see Tess and Will’s marriage be challenged by the revelation of Tess’s affair. I would have also liked to see Polly’s reaction to her being an amputee. Instead, the Epilogue was a bunch of “could have’s and “ifs. There was also just so much going on with different characters; Tess & Will, Cecilia & John-Paul, Lauren & Rob. The book was centered on all three couples which seemed counterproductive to the plot. The plot was meant to be about Cecilia finding a letter of her husband’s “secret about him confessing to murder that she was meant to find after he died. I’m going to give this a 3.5 star ⭐️ If I’m being honest, I was over this book days ago, but I didn’t want to NOT finish it.
