I enjoyed the first part of the book, but it died a painful death with a misunderstanding that the heroine refused to address. That was a really bad part of the book that could have been avoided with a little open communication and honesty. The narration by Lucy Rayner added nothing to this book.

Henrietta Barrett has found herself in charge of her guardian's estate for over six years. She has had free reign over the estate and has done a great job of management. She has never thought of life outside Cornwell and Henry was in for a big change when her guardian died, and the estate passes to a complete stranger. A very handsome and charming stranger. Well, she will just need to send him packing right back to London.

William Dunford is high to London's list of eligible bachelors. Although he has plenty of money, he has no title or estate. When word reaches him that her has inherited both, he is very curious to see his new holdings. What he finds is a well-run estate managed by a beautiful hoyden who wears men's breeches and is willing to so the grubbiest tasks. What she is resistant to is acting like a lady.
