I had trouble getting in to this book because of its strange narrator. However, I was soon so engrossed in the story about these wonderful people surviving Nazi Germany during the Holocaust. You quickly get to know each character and for the most part, fall in love with them. It is an excellent story, well and uniquely written. The ending is uplifting and very moving. best book I've read this year!
