I think many if not most will be familiar with this book as it's not only been around a while, sold well and gotten a lot of notice it's also the inspiration behind a TV edition.

Here we get the story of Easy (E) company of the 506th PIR of the 101 Air Borne Division told by Mr. Ambrose through remembrances of surviving members. it's a highly interesting book giving the story/history of the outfit along with a "slice" of the "everyday war". Things are related with the "dirt still on". The men, the officers from training through the end of the war. The men who were killed, the replacements, the survivors who went from the unit's inception to the very end.

History buff? Biography aficionado? Interested in the military? try this one if you haven't already. Excellent read.

Jim Mcclanahan Ambrose wrote a number of excellent historical volumes. But this is by far the best one.

Bojan Spoiler Alert ! Agree, this is my favorite WW2 movie. But there is one young remarkable talented actor who was playing the role of Pfc. Merriell 'Snafu' Shelton.Rami Malek in the Pacific.(Iwo jima,Shinava Islands, etc.) that kid in my opinnion ,especialy after the so underrated fantastic movie Buster's Mal Heart, deserved an Oscar. But instead,Di Caprio won his 1 oscar in a movie where he barely said only 2 words.I remember when in Pacific they were on that f* Island where the ground was so hard...Lucky's were falling from Skies as a needed as much the food. And now on the pack it says it's gonna kill you!! How Ironic. Isn't it ?
