it was amazing

Cherie (disclosure: she's a good friend, and I read the ARC of Boneshaker) has crafted a beautiful and believable world, and filled it with characters who never once rang false to me. The characters, the dialog, and the descriptive prose all come together to create a wonderful novel that is is easy to read and hard to put down.

Sandi I just picked up a copy of this. I've heard only good things about it. The cover is really cool too. (I like that it's a stand-alone.)

message 2: by Kim (new) - rated it 3 stars

Kim I wonder how much was inflated because you know her. The world was good but the characters were so cliche and boring and the dialogue did not help at all.

Sandi I actually really liked the book. It had its flaws, but I found it enjoyable. As the mother of a teenage son, I could relate to how far Briar would go to rescue her son. I have listened to the follow-up books and actually enjoyed them much more. Dreadnought was fantastic. I don't know if I enjoyed it more than Boneshaker because I listened to it rather than reading it like I did the first one. If I ever feel like re-reading Boneshaker, I might try the audio.

Agree. I didn't care about the characters at all, they weren't fleshed out in any way.
