it was amazing

I loved this book! More intelligent than your average chick lit, SPIN takes a sensitive yet humourous look at life amongst the celebrities inside a rehab facility.
Katie Sandford, the heroine of this story is equal parts clever, goofy, and natural. I found her easy to relate to, especially her love of music. In some respects, Katie's career dreams are very similar to my own, so I was avidly reading to see how things would work out for her.

Catherine McKenzie's writing is tight, funny, and fast-paced. I especially liked the fact that Ms McKenzie created original names for all of her characters. It's a pet peeve of mine when authors barely change the name of a famous person to make it "fictional" (i.e. in Candace Bushnell's Trading Up?, there is a characted named Mauve Binchley. Hmmm, who is that supposed to be?. There is nothing facile about Catherine McKenzie's writing, she'll never insult your intelligence.

If you want to be entertained, treat yourself. Read SPIN. You won't regret it. I eagerly await Catherine McKenzie's next book.
