did not like it

There may be spoilers!

To be honest, I was very excited to read this book at first. It sounded very exciting. But it turned out to be a total disappointment. First, I did not like the fact that there was no real action in the book. I did not feel like it was taking place during an apocalypse. It just felt like I was reading about normal life. Second, Miranda Evans is just a totally unrelatable and quite annoying character. She is, as another fellow reviewer wrote, always complaining about food. She has this obsession with chocolate and she even eats a bag of chocolate chips, which she later finds out are for her brother's birthday. She keeps saying how she is feeling sick as she eats them, and she keeps eating them anyways. And then she gets mad when her mom is mad at her about it. Sorry that was such a poor quality paragraph but I'm just ranting here.
Another thing I didn't like was the romance. I didn't feel like there was a good development of the romance between Miranda and Dan. I feel like they just met and then they kissed a lot....
The last thing I didn't like was the portrayal of Christians. Although I am not a Christian myself, I know many and they are all nice and would not take the food from their congregation. Of course, I know that there are many people who are so devoted to God, but I doubt that that's the majority of them, so I did not like that portrayal.
The only thing I liked about this book (and the reason I gave it two stars instead of one) was the diary format.
