Read 2 times. Last read April 23, 2017 to May 30, 2017.
If you think you know all there is to know about Abraham Lincoln, spend some time in the mid-1800's with Doris Kearns Goodwin in her book, Team of Rivals. This book describes quite eloquently the 16th president's astounding grasp of the subtleties of politics and his masterful handling of the Civil War and the emancipation of the slaves.
I actually tried to read and finish this book in 2007, but started over and finally did finish this year.
Some books need to be read more than once for full understanding. I am glad that I was finally able to complete this great work.
