it was amazing

I really enjoyed the book, "To kill a Mockingbird." It was a heartwarming and wonderful book, inspiring me from the very first page till the ending. The book talks about the moral human beings, that is whether people are essentially good or bad through the characters and the events that appear in the story.

Scout, who is the narrator and the protagonist of the story is a intelligent girl who is raised somewhat different from the other girls in Maycomb. She has grown up to be like who she is because of the good influence of her father Atticus, who is a lawyer. Unlike other people in the society she does not stick to what the society thinks about racism, status, etc. Though at the beginning Scout and Jem ( her brother) are innocent children who do not know the "evil world " they grow more mature and learn a lot of things about evil and good as the story progresses.

One of the important characters in the story is Boo Radely. He is known to have never come out of his house and because of this he is a source of childhood superstition for Scout and Jem at first. But as the story progressives and Boo starts to become a close existence to Scout and Jem their ideas change. In the story there were parts where Boo left presents and mends Jem`s pants. These little events that occur in the story change Scout and Jems perspectives of Boo making him a closer existence to them. Boo is also an important character in this story since he is the Mocking bird. The title of the Story, "To kill a Mocking bird" has a deep symbolic meaning to this story. “Mockingbirds don’t do one thing but . . . sing their hearts out for us. That’s why it’s a sin to kill a mockingbird. As I have said Boo is a example of a mockingbird. He is one of the characters who have done nothing bad to the society but is known to be“differnt and bad and because of this people see him differently. He has not given any harm to people but on the other hand have saved Scout and Jems live. Boo is one of the symbol of the good that exists within people.

Another important event that occurs in the story is when Atticus defends Tom Robinson, a black man who has been accused for raping a white women. Though because of this decision the family is treated badly Atticus keep on defending him. In the end though, Tom Robinson is killed when he is trying to escape from jail. Tom is also a mocking bird. Like mocking birds are different from other birds, Tom is different from the other people because of his color. Tom Rabinson and Boo are known to be the mocking bird of the story since people see them as bad people when in reality they are good people who have done nothing to others. This is why killing someone like Tom robinson and boo is going to become a sin.

“When they finally saw him, why he hadn’t done any of those things . . . Atticus, he was real nice. . . .His hands were under my chin, pulling up the cover, tucking it around me. Most people are, Scout, when you finally see them. This is one of the things Scout said in the ending of the book. This talks about how Scout has change in person understanding that in evil there is also good.
People should not be judged just by their looks or the rumors around them. “You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view . . . until you climb into his skin and walk around in it.

I really loved this book. It was awsome giving me a satisfying ending and a warm and touching feeling. It was not that hard to read and did not have a lot of hard vocabularies. The story had a good flow and the story line was interesting. The best thing I liked about this story was how it taught a good moral lesson to us readers too.

Saya I liked this book as well, and I agree with your thought that this book has taught the reader a good moral lesson, that people should not be judged by their appearance, especially when this book was first published. I also agree that Boo Radly is the most important supporting character in the book, in influencing Jem and Scout; He made a great transition in the story plot.
