Chapter 26

I've decided: I'm going to tell him the truth. The truth that contains lies. So...I'm not telling him the truth? No, I'm just not going to fully explain. What he won't know won't hurt him, will it? Well...to tell you the actual truth, I have no idea. But I've got to this, and I have to do this now.

Josh, I am a Gallagher Girl. Yes, I know I lied to you. I'm so sorry. But, I-I-I I'm sorry. Good-bye.
I think that's all I have to say. Piece of cake...no not really.

I absolutely positively can't do this. I'm just going to turn around, never going to have to see his face again.

Uh-oh.

"Hi, Josh. Oh hello, Dillon. It's nice to see you again." I'm going to blow this. Breathe, breathe Cammie. I am chameleon. I can do this! I am a trained spy. I've done this since forever. Why is it so hard all of a sudden?

"Well well well." Dillon strolled toward me. "How was SCHOOL today?" he asked.

Gulp. "You know. The usual, fine."

"I saw you Saturday," Dillon said. "Walking home with your friends." "But...I'm home schooled. How could you possibly know where I live? Wait...are you...? DO you...stalk me or something? Cause this is kinda getting CREEPY." And the Academy Award for Best Actress in Teenage Drama goes to....CAMMIE MORGAN!!! Yay!

"Give it up rich girl, I saw you. With my own eyes. I SAW you! I don't care what your daddy-"

Did he know that I could easily claw out his eyes. That I can knock him out dead. Be careful who your talking to D-man because I will kill you.

But he didn't finish, "Dillon!" it was Josh this time.

"I'm so sorry," I whispered. "I'm so sorry." But i couldn't see his face anymore. I couldn't see anything. My vision was blurred with tears. And I turned away before they showed. I ripped off the earings from my ear and shoved them in his hand.

"I can't ever see you again." I looked into his eyes once more, "You'll be better for it."

Goodbye.
