It is actually hard for me to express how much I loved this book, and how much heartache I experienced at the end.
King writes so incredibly prolifically that he misses a lot. Truth be told, I love his misses as well as his home runs, but this book is a true gem. I love the historical research, I love the obsession, but most of all the love story underscores everything.
I couldn't look away. (view spoiler)
Stephen King has told us for decades that there is always a price to pay, and that sometimes fixing things makes the price much larger and much more painful. I don't remember him ever convincing me before how much the pain could be worth it.
