This is Palahniuk's 4th book that I read. I don't usually read books from the same author because I will see that same style or writing which many times lead to predictable ending. Same thing with Palahniuk. I started seeing that repeating style when I read his book before this one. But the thing is, I love that style. Strong twisted characters, descriptions so detailed that often make you cringe, a seemingly different story that is scattered every few chapters throughout the book, the first chapter that hooks you right away and fits together nicely when you finish reading the book... It's the same style - and yet, I don't mind. And what's more important is the fact that I can never guess the ending. Love it!
